Midget Gold, U18, 2014-2015 (Mt Brydges Minor Hockey)

We faced a hungrier Point Edward team last Friday and it showed. We were outmatched all game and they played us with a well executed trap defeating us 7-2 in the process. This may set the table for a post season matchup, but we'll need to increase our appetite and come into the post season as the hungrier opponent. It's time to pick up our socks and make this great season worth while in the end. We have one game remaining to gain the momentum we seem to have left behind. Go Cougars, Robert

We had our work cut out for us Friday evening against the South Huron Sabres. They brought a tricky game plan and played us well all game. We went down 1-0 in the 2nd on a fluke goal that was merely a bad bounce. As always, Cougars Gold bounced back. Mitch "The Combine" Wolfs evened the score with a goal early in the third, Hayden provided the assist on the goal. Edwin gave us the lead halfway through the third grabbing a rebound off Kennes' point shot. 

After coming out to a blazing start and boasting a 17 game undefeated streak we were finally defeated in regular season. We lost to a very strong (literally) Point Edward team. We were able to beat them early in December but fell short on our second trip to the bridge town. We came on strong in the third, but it was too little too late in a 6-3 loss. It's time for Cougars Gold to bounce back. We take on a challenging South Huron squad tonight at home and need a win to pick up momentum. The Cougars took their talents to Tilsonburg (my back still aches when I hear that word) this past weekend. The table was set for a tough matchup vs Lambeth first thing Saturday morning. We showed up for this one. Despite having two goals called back we were still tied in the third. 

Good Morning, After a clean sweep last week that saw us take another three wins we were off to the border to take on Point Edward. We knew exactly what we were up against with the historically good Blackhawk squad and we were ready.
