The Cougars took their talents to Tilsonburg (my back still aches when I hear that word) this past weekend. The table was set for a tough matchup vs Lambeth first thing Saturday morning. We showed up for this one. Despite having two goals called back we were still tied in the third.
Unfortunately we lost Mitch Rastin to a broken arm as he tried cushioning the blow of his check. Like a true hockey player he skated off on his own power and didn't even stop play. We hope for a speedy recovery to our stout defenceman. Lambeth caught a break in OT and put this one away. We were the Lancers best competition by far this season and will play them in exhibition a couple more times before playoffs. Our second game had us against the home town Tilsonburg squad. This was an ugly game from the start, but solid play from The Wall Callum kept us in this one en route to a victory. This would lead to a B final matchup against TNT. We came out a little flat but proved to be more explosive late. Keck and Hayden put one in and gave us the lead. The one goal lead proved to be enough as we were crowned the B champs and left with our heads held high.
