Peewee Gold, U13, 2018-2019 (Mt Brydges Minor Hockey)

As we enter our final playoff round this season against Ilderton, the bench is a bit short for this game due to the March Break and lots families are away doing other stuff. We managed to muster up 6 die-hard skaters plus one who came along for the assistant coaching experience as Haywood dressed but rode the pine due to injury. I know Cole would have rather been playing than coaching....at one point I heard him say "I'm bored" which was no doubt true. Coach Mark's game plan today was to slow the game down so our players could keep pace for the duration of the game......

The playoff series was back in Mount Brydges against Aylmer for another battle. The Cougars were determined to save a bit of face and come back after the spanking we took in the 3rd period of the last game in Aylmer. This time the kids were dressed and ready to go when Coach Mark came in the dressing room after helping coach the game before us with his younger son Cooper. What happened Coop? You got your butt kicked :( Hopefully the outcome of our game is better....

Aylmer Red was the opponent today in their barn. You never know what to expect in minor hockey and the result tonight really brought that home to me. We finished strong in Windsor at the tournament just a few days ago then it seems to me we took a few steps....

Our team participated in our last tournament of the season in Windsor this weekend. I must admit when I first saw our schedule I was grumbling a bit under my breath. It didn't start too bad with our first game at 9:20 Saturday morning. Our 2nd contest was later Saturday night at 7:20pm then the really nasty one was bright and early Sunday at 7:10am. It would be interesting to see our boys get dragged out of bed and play hockey at such an ungodly hour after a late game the night before.....
