PlayOff Game 3
Aylmer Red was the opponent today in their barn. You never know what to expect in minor hockey and the result tonight really brought that home to me. We finished strong in Windsor at the tournament just a few days ago then it seems to me we took a few steps....

back tonight. A number of the boys were scrambling to get dressed and not ready before the game so Coach Mark was not happy and forgo the pregame talk and decided to switch things up a bit. For better or worse, it's the coaches prerogative to move players around and tell the kids to play a different position when he feels the need to do so. Tonight it was clear to most of us the new assignment was met with resistance both on and off the ice which proved to be a distraction for the whole team. My advice to players when they are moved to a different position: 1) Keep a positive attitude 2) Give it a 100% effort every time on the ice. 3)Do not complain. 4) Do not assume you know more than the coach. Remember, good players who succeed in this team game are coachable and will undertake new assignments with enthusiasm. Coach Paul said it quite well in the dressing room after the game. Enough of that, now about the game.

The first period didn't start off too bad as we scored both of our goals.  Blaine buried one in the corner of the slot after some nice work by Colbey Relou moving the puck around the offensive zone. Later in the period Carson scored an unassisted goal with 48 seconds left in the 1st period. Aylmer had managed to score one at about the midway point so the score after 1 period was 2-1 for the us.

I think in the 2nd period there was some good effort displayed by a few of our players but for the most part we were flat and really didn't do much. No scoring occurred in the 2nd by either team.

The wheels fell off completely for us in the 3rd as Aylmer scored 4 unanswered goals so the game ended with a 5-2 loss. Not much more I really want to say about this one. We had a bad night, let's try and rebound next game with a better effort and performance.
