Game 19
The Dorchester arena was the destination yesterday in the blustery weather to face off against the Dorchester 3 squad who are just ahead of us in the standings. We could use the points to help close the gap

We played a very solid game especially considering we were down to 3 defense and 6 forwards on the bench. This makes for lots of ice time for everyone but as the game goes on the fatigue can rear it's ugly head late in the game.

The game sheet shows Jackson Emerick scoring both of our goals in the 2nd period but my memory and other family members tell me Carson also scored one. Jackson Emerick played a great game in his relatively new spot at centre and scored a beauty at the 8:59 mark of the 2nd period after capitalizing on his own rebound. This was an unassisted goal after a lot of hard effort, way to go Jackson!

About 5 minutes later at 3:39 Carson Kechego scored our 2nd goal assisted by Dustin Deleary. The score was 2-1 at the end of the 2nd period. We kept playing well in the 3rd as did Dorchester, this was a hard fought battle and I think perhaps fatigue started effecting our play a bit. With one minute left on the clock Dorchester had us pinned in our own zone when they managed to tie it up at 2 each. After this one, no more scoring would occur so we each take home a point for the tie.

Great job team, a great effort by all. We look forward to our last regular season game next Saturday against St Marys. See everyone at practice on Friday night.
