Player of the Week!
Hello families of the Atom Red hockey team,

What an exciting week of "edge of your seat" hockey! we have seen our team fall behind only to rally back in the 3rd period time and time again. Why can we do this? Because our team never gives up and always seems to be able to score a clutch goal in key moments.

Quite often it is our Player of the Week who finds the right words at the right time to motivate his teammates.

There is an old saying that goes something like this:” good players inspire themselves, great players inspire others.” Our Player of the Week is always positive and always encourages his teammates. Down by a goal, “no problem!” he says. Down by 2 goals, “we got this,” down by 3 goals “we’ve done this before!” playing shorthanded,” lets get one!” It is because of this positive attitude and words of affirmation our Player of the Week says regularly which inspire everyone on his team.

Player of the Week can find open lanes all over the ice, speeding-up and slowing down at will, completely confusing and defenseman facing him! He has scored by stickhandling through countless players, left the oppositions defenseman dazed and confused and still control the puck enough to deke-out a goalie! Or, maybe our Player of the Week will score from the blueline with his crazy wrist shot or possibly take the puck in deep, cycle down low and throw the pass to the wingers waiting patiently in front of the net for a classic one-timer.

Every practice, every game we watch our Player of the Week progress and develop all of his skills. Above our regular hockey, our Player of the Week attends clinics to continue to improve his already amazing skills. Why does he do this? Because our Player of the Week works hard to be better every day for himself and for his team. Constant practice helps to develop, fine-tune and improves skills and our Player of the Week continues to improve all aspects of his game.

Our Player of the Week is a leader. He leadership style is made through hard work, determination, perseverance and a desire to encourage everyone around them to be successful.  It is these attributes that drive our Player of the Week to be the best hockey player and teammate that he can be.

It is my pleasure to award the Player of the Week Cougar Cup, Certificate and puck to:
