Hello Atom Blue families,
This week, we had the opportunity to watch one of our players play a different position than he is used. We asked him to play left wing right before a game because we had a number of kids who were sick. He accepted this challenge and displayed incredible intensity on the ice while playing this position.
He was working hard, digging the puck out
of the corners, feeding the puck to the centers and flying all over the ice, contributing offensively, defensively and encouraging his team-mates on the bench.
Occasionally, his hard work and passion lands him in the penalty box. Most players would be upset when this happens but not our Player of the Week. This just gives him a few minutes to recharge his batteries and play even harder!
As the famous coach Herb Brooks said " I want speed and excitement, and I want the players to go out and have the time of their lives. We're not going to waiting for something to happen, we're going to make something happen ourselves." Our Player of the Week exemplifies what coaches are looking for in players every shift. We seen him catch fire during our tournament, accumulating an incredible 14 points in 3 games!
He does not wait for things to happen, he makes things happen!
