Playoff Game 3 (Updated)
Game 3 was back under the bridge in Point Edward last night. The  Golddiggers are looking to come back and give this Point Edward team a better run this time. It is sure to be another tough battle...

First the good news, we had a much better game than in our previous contest. Both goalies played very well and we stood our ground much better against a rather chippy opponent. AJ Duffy scored our only goal assisted by Carson and Braedan.

The bad news is we just couldn't manage to get enough offense to match the 5 goals scored against us. Point Edward is a very strong defensive team so the shots on their net were few and far between. Not to mention the big shooters they have make them a very tough opponent. The series is now done so Point Edward will advance to play either Mount Brydges Blue or Thamesford.

Everyone gave it their best effort in this game, that is all any coach will ask for. Hold your heads high and get ready for round two. If it is any consolation, Point Edward is probably the #2 ranked PeeWee local league team in North America. 2nd only to none other than the Thamesford attack. I base this information on the results of the International Silverstick Championships recently held in Pelham where Thamesford defeated Point Edward by a score of 3-2 to claim the top spot. This tells you a bit about the competition we faced in the A pool this year.
Be proud Goldiggers! You did a great job and we have lots of exciting hockey left to play this year.

In closing I want to wish PeeWee Blue good luck in their tough battle against Thamesford today at 11:00am in Mount Brydges. It's game 4 and the Big Blue is down 2 games to 1. GO COUGARS GO!!

Update, Peewee Blue lost a very close contest to the number 1 ranked Thamesford Attack this morning by a final score of 4-3.  Congrats Big Blue on a great series.  We look forward to the fun and games ahead :)
