Game 21
The winter chill has returned as we made our way to the booming metropolus of Thedford tonight to play the Lambton Shores Black team. Everyone was accounted for and we came out hustling and playing well......
Both teams were playing hard and trading chances at both ends. Both goalies were earning their keep by making some sweet saves and keeping the teams off the score board well into the 3rd period. A penalty was called on us with 9:25 left on the clock so we were trying to kill it off when Lambton Shores broke in on a two on one. Ben made the save but they managed to pick up the loose puck and score with 8:41 left to play.
The team kept pressing but our opponent matched our efforts and managed to keep the puck out of their net. Time was quickly closing in on us and we made a few mistakes by taking very long shifts and taking another penalty with just over 2 minutes left in the game. We tried hard for the equalizer but no dice so we fall short with a 1-0 loss. Congrats to the Lambton Shores Black team for a very strong game and well deserved victory.
With the exception of a few mistakes in the 3rd period, I thought our team played very well, that's the way it goes sometimes. The good news is I get to keep my 5 bucks tonight since we didn't rack up any assists :-) Let's shake it off and get ready for Strathroy tomorrow.
