Hello Novice Gold parents and players,
Thank you for your commitment to the team! It is my pleasure to be Coach of your son's hockey team. I feel truly privileged to have been given this opportunity.
As I mentioned in a previous post, we now have received permission from the tyke blue coach, to have one of his players be an affiliated player for our team.
I am excited to welcome Cooper M to our team! Since Cooper M is an affiliated player, he will only be asked to play on our team when 2 or more of our players cannot make a practice, or a game. From a coaching standpoint, it is easier to have 3 full forward lines, and 2 defence lines during a game. The reasoning behind this, is that double shifting players can become exhausting, and at times confusing for everyone.
Being a new coach, I regularly review other teams webpages to seek out new ideas, in order to incorporate them into ours. The Novice Blue webpage has some articles written by its players, and submitted by their coach. I feel that this is an excellent idea as it encourages the players to write articles and then share them with their parents and friends. I would like to encourage all Novice Gold Players to write articles about the games, and have their Moms and Dads send it to me via e-mail! Coach Dave would love to post their articles on their behalf!!
I am always on the look out for new fun ideas for our players. I am sure that you have heard the boys Rocking "Gangham Style" from the change room. I felt that bringing music into our changing area would be motivating before and after the games. So far, the music has proven to be quite uplifting!
I have been informed that team and individual pictures should be distributed before the Christmas Holidays. I have also been re-assured that the team photo will be redone in the new year, free of charge, to include all of our players.
