Playoff Game 4
The playoff series was back in Mount Brydges against Aylmer for another battle. The Cougars were determined to save a bit of face and come back after the spanking we took in the 3rd period of the last game in Aylmer. This time the kids were dressed and ready to go when Coach Mark came in the dressing room after helping coach the game before us with his younger son Cooper. What happened Coop? You got your butt kicked :(
Hopefully the outcome of our game is better....

Our boys showed up to play today and we were very pleased with the effort from one end of the bench to the other. In the first period, there was lots of heart & hustle displayed by the players and goalies on both teams. No scoring happened in the first period but lots of action, especially in the Aylmer zone.
Things opened up in the 2nd when Colbey Relou scored at 7:32 assisted by Craig Kopal and Cole Haywood. Aylmer was not about to lay down and answered back at 4:20 then again at 3:28 to take a 2-1 lead. The boys were not discouraged and it helped our morale when Cole Haywood blasted a huge shot from the point that found the back of the net giving him another well earned goal. Colton Cordeiro did a great job getting in the way and screening the Aylmer netminder in this nice play.
The 3rd period was underway and it didn't take long for Colbey Relou to cash his 2nd goal of the game at the 12:22 mark. The assist on this one goes to Craig Kopal giving him his 2nd point of the game. Both teams battled hard and at one point Aylmer managed to put one in our net but the goal was waved off as the goal post was out of position. I thought Ben was going to lose it but his antics actually worked and the refs called off the goal. The rest of the tiome would tick away until the curfew buzzer went off and we had a well deserved victory. Coach Mark was very happy with the effort by everyone in this game. We are stronger when we all work as a team and it showed in this game.
Great job Cougars! Keep up the hard work in our next series against Ilderton. The schedule is now on the team calendar.
