Thanks for the Memories!
The season is finished and the year end party is now over...what a fun afternoon today with the Novice Red families! We just got home and I asked Ben if he had fun this season. His response was "yes but I'm sad" I asked "why are you sad?" Ben said "because hockey is over and I won't see my friends". He was fighting a tear or two and I think this speaks volumes for the fun he had and the friends he made in hockey this season......
Playing hockey is about meeting new people, working together as a group to accomplish a common goal, learning how to deal with people and learning how to interact with others. All are essential life skills everyone needs to have in order to succeed in their own personal and professional lives.
We saw a lot of young players make huge strides forward with these skills this season and to me that is far more important than how many goals one scores. I hope this group of kids will take something away from this season and have fond memories of the time we shared over the last 6 months. Each player has developed their skills and are now ready to move on to the next challenge whatever that may be.
I wish everyone all the best and good luck with your future sporting endeavours. I'm sure I'll see many of you at the arena or ball diamond in the coming months.
Keep your stick on the ice and a smile on your face :-)
