Midget Rep, U18, 2013-2014 (Mt Brydges Minor Hockey)

After going to the finals in the Owen Sound and Kincardine tournaments and coming up short, the major midgets were not going to be denied a 3rd time. They went undefeated in the Boston Pizza tournament in Simcoe beating Twin Centre 3-1 in the finals. The coaching staff could not be more proud of the boys.

 The coaching staff has chosen Cody Genttner as this year captain. Cody is an excellent player who leads with hardwork and is also an excellent motivator & leader on his team. Aaron Ross will again be an alternate captain, Aaron wore an A last year as a first year player and has shown to be a leader on & off the ice. Carson Kennes and Arleigh Dean will also be alternate captains. Both are second year players who have shown extra committment to the team on & off the ice.

 The major midgets started out this years season going 6 - 0 in pre season games outscoring their opponents 29 to 9. After that and 1 practice we off to the Owen Sound tournament where we found some of our strengths & weaknesses as a team. We battled hard through close games with a shootout victory in the semis, eventually losing a close game in the finals vs OS. It was an excellent opportunity for the boys to get to know each other with some new faces on this years team.

Owen Sound Tournament Sept 20,21 & 22, OHL game;Owen Sound Att home opener vs Peterborough. Sat Sept 28 1st annual mm golf tournament. Kincardine tournament Oct 25-27 Aylmer Tournament Nov 15-17 Silverstick Dec 26-Jan 2. We believe our team budget will be approx $250/player. The coaching staff are looking for players who will be dedicated to the season ahead. We believe hockey is a great team game & look forward to showing a team of young men what can be achieved when we all work together.
