The SIECO Roofing and Siding Ltd Major Midgets season has started
The major midgets started out this years season going 6 - 0 in pre season games outscoring their opponents 29 to 9. After that and 1 practice we off to the Owen Sound tournament where we found some of our strengths & weaknesses as a team. We battled hard through close games with a shootout victory in the semis, eventually losing a close game in the finals vs OS. It was an excellent opportunity for the boys to get to know each other with some new faces on this years team.
New players this year are Jacob Speed, Max Ewart, Joey Doxtator & Ryan McGrath moving up from Bantam. Ryan Mishriky, Patrick Keogh & Andrew Smith coming up from minor midget and Reed Horvat coming back from AAA. The major midgets were able to move up 2 players from last years young team to the JR C league with Matt DaCosta going to the Bulldogs & Dane Gubbels as the starting goaltender for the North Middlesex Stars. Adding their names along with Sean Candler, Cam Dewan, Robbie McTaggart & Tyler Lockwood who have also recently moved on to JR C from the major midget program. The major midgets are looking forward to working closely with the Bulldogs program & feel we have a talented group that can move up in the next year or two. The coaching staff is excited to feel the energy of this years team and look forward to guiding a group of young men through a fun and successful season.
