Parents requirements to help on the ice
PLEASE be advised that it is mandatory for parents that are helping out on the ice with the Mites that they obtain their Respect in Sports for Coach. This could be completed online by accessing the course through the OMHA website. Parents on the ice will also need to get a Police Check. The form for the police check is available on this website and could be taken to your local OPP office.

I would also ask parents that they have the players ready to go on the ice for 8:00 am, in order to start the practice shortly thereafter. This will allow for less disruption and have all the players available for the instructions before the warm up. I am sure that you will agree with me that the kids are already making some improvement and hopefully are having fun.

I would also like to talk to the coaches before the start of the practice, so everyone is aware of the practice plan. I will also have it in writing on a clip board on the board by the penalty box so it could be reviewed during practice if necessary.

Thank you again for helping out.
