Game 20
Written by Coach Dave Abbey....Here we go, its the final regular season game and we had a tough opponent. We had a solid 2 lines and the kids were up to the task. The game started out quick with Novice white getting a break and started the scoring 2 mins in. Novice red started to take it to them and really pushed hard buzzing around their end, pushing the puck to the front of the net where Maddie "smiley" Graham was camped out....

There was quite a scramble and the puck couldn't be seen, but one player kept bangin' away and before we knew it the game was tied. This goal was the result of the "never give up" attitude of Cole "Crash" Haywood getting rewarded with his first goal. Cole came back to the bench and told me he didn't hear a whistle, so he get pushing until he scored, Awesome goal Cole. White would take the lead once again but then Cole "Mouse" Abbey started shooting from everywhere and buried one from the top of the circle making it 2-2. Unfortunately White had some extra energy and scored one more before the end of the first period and added 3 more in the 2nd. Novice Red showed a lot of heart by giving it their all, but white was just too much for us and got a couple more to finish the game at 8-2. We had one player in particular that showed some real good speed and great hustle getting to the front of the net every chance he could, what an effort from our heart and hustle winner Cole "Hammy" Hampson. Was it a tough loss? Did we want to win? Did every player on Novice Red do their best? The answer is YES to these questions. I am sure we will take the positives from this experience and get ready for the playoffs. Way to go Novice Red, great effort and let's get ready for the playoffs. See everyone at practice on Thursday night.
