Player of the Week
Hello Novice White parents and players,
This weeks Player of the Week goes to a player who, at the beginning of the season, agreed to play a position that no-one else wanted. With very little experience, he agreed to play goalie for our team.
He has been working exceptionally hard at this position the entire season. He is learning the skills necessary to be a goaltender and doing his best at every practice and game.
In order to improve his skills, he is completing various programs to develop his skills including power skating at Gazdigs,
1 on 1 sessions with Puckstoppers and now has started the Mount Brydges Goalie Clinic on top of everything!!
His enthusiasm is evident after every game. He is always smiling and ready to do everything he can to stop the puck. He thoroughly enjoys the friendships he is developing by being part of this team. Whether it is an early morning practice or late in the day game, he is always ready and willing to strap on the pads.
Each game, his intensity level increases, his love of goaltending grows and his skills get better and better. We seen him at his best at our last game where he stopped a break-away AND the rebound to keep us in the game. During a scramble in the last minute, he butterflied down and trapped the puck in-between his pads, giving us the win!
