The team showed up Friday night in West Lorne
ready to battle hard against a tough Lambeth team. That is exactly what Novice Black did! After the third period the game was tied 3-3.
The game went into OT. The forward lines battled hard for the puck
while our defense was unstoppable keeping Lambeth away from Ava. After 5 minutes of OT, it was still tied 3-3. The team was pumped and ready to enter into
their first shoot out. It was a nail
biter!
Holy Moly what a goalie! Ava saved shot after shot. Both teams went through more than half their bench before the game was decided. Lambeth beat Novice Black in an amazing shoot out. The London Knights suffered the same fate that night. Congratulations to James Hipple for winning the game MVP award. Great Job James!
Novice Black played their first game in the B division on Saturday evening. We came out strong against the West Lorne Black team. The kids played a great game of hockey! Ashton danced, talked non-stop and play an amazing defensive game!! Our top goal scorers on Saturday were Luke D, Owen B, James H and Braedan Viana. This was a night of firsts for Braedan V. He got his first goal of the season and his first penalty. Novice Black defeated West Lorne 9-0. Will Stewart played a fantastic defensive game and was named MVP on Saturday night. Way to Go Will!!
Sunday afternoon was the final game. Our team played awesome! Novice Black worked together and it was magic. Everyone was playing their positions, passing the puck and having lots of fun! Liam G fought hard the whole game. Our girls played incredible. We had Taylor J, Samara G and Jill I, all giving there A game. It was all about Girl Power on Sunday afternoon!! Jill scored her first goal of the season … and, oh ya … she followed her first goal by 2 more. Awesome Hat Trick Jill! Our little Liam P was on fire this game. Great hustle. Breaden Jones had it all today. He played a great defensive and forward game. Great goal! Sam Stewart played hard and fast on forward to win the MVP award. Go Sam Go!! Novice Black won the finals with another 9-0 score.
Novice Black should be proud of themselves for skating hard, playing their positions, passing the puck and having FUN! They all wore their medals proud today!! The coaching staff is very proud of you!
