Atom AE Cougars take Bronze
Atom AE Cougars take Bronze at Strathroy Minor Olympics.

Early Sunday morning, while most were still digging out from under Mother Nature's idea of a joke, the Mt Brydges Atom AE Cougars were busy in Strathroy defeating the Jets of Ilderton in the Bronze Medal game at the Strathroy Minor Olympics.  After playing two outstanding games on Friday these Cougars pulled their "Jekyl and Hyde" routine, again, coming up with their not best effort against Petrolia in the lunch time game.  Responding to the coaches' challenge, the boys came up with a much better team effort in the evening game, proving once again adversity is no match for their drive to succeed.  The win moved our boys out of a three way tie placing them firmly in third, setting up the Sunday morning showdown.  After a fast start, some great defensive zone play and some great passing the boys built a 2-0 lead on goals by Riley McLean and Ben Wilson with a couple helpers going to our lone lady on defence, Lauren Highfield.  Not being happy with the ordinary, the boys gave up a late third period goal leading to an exciting finish and more than a few heart palpitations for the fans.......and coaches'!!!!!
A great effort boys you made the coaches proud with your team play.  And thanks to all our loyal fans for their support when we know they would rather have been home shoveling the drive!!!
Remember boys.......Effort takes no Skill!!!!!
