Atom AE's take Silver in the Cougars Challenge Cup
Congratulations to the Atom AE Cougars for their outstanding performance in the Cougar Challenge Cup.
After losing the opening game Friday night 4-1 to Lambeth in a game that saw the Cougars miss more open nets than Crosby has hat tricks, the boys roared back Saturday morning with a huge team effort, defeating the Lucan Irish 3-1 and moving on to the Gold Medal Game with a decisive 4-0 win over the Wallaceburg Lakers. After taking a 1-0 lead in the first period of the final game, the Dragons of Dorchester staged their own comeback scoring 3 unanswered goals to take over the lead. Undaunted, the Cougars battled back with a goal of their own but came up just short in a nailbiting game that saw everything from called back goals to goal posts to pucks that trickled through the crease. Great work boys, you should be very proud of your effort this weekend. Expect more great things from this team by the end of the year!
