Meghan Posthumus Saves the Day
The Midget C Cougars completed a 3 game sweep on the weekend by defeating the BAD girls 3-1 Sunday in Dorchester. The win also vaulted our girls past Ilderton to claim first place and the league championship. Two early goals by Gina Toth seemed to set the tone for the Cougars. Things changed quickly as BAD turned things up and outshot our girls for the rest of the game. Strong goaltending by Becky Despard-Young held the lead. BAD scored in the dying seconds of the second period which was crucial as a tie was not good enough to claim top spot. Meghan sealed the deal with a powerplay goal from the point with a couple minutes left. Congrats girls and keep up the good work!
