GREAT TEAM PLAY
Things are going very well for the Midget C girls team. As the team gets ready for playoffs and OWHA playdowns they just happen to be playing their best hockey of the year! Saturday we took on the first place Ilderton Jets. In 4 previous meetings we had not yet beat them. The girls played a strong game and were awarded with a 4-2 come from behind victory. Gina Toth got the hat trick with Shauna Greenwood and Rachel Frizzell adding two points each. Becky Despard-Young notched another win between the pipes with support from Brooklyne Jones and Ashley Litt on defence. Consistent play from Sarah Wuytenburg and Erin McGrath on the wing kept the Jets in the hangar.
On Sunday it was off to Lambeth to take on the Lancers. Riding yesterday's high the Cougars hit the ice flying and never looked back. A convincing 8-1 win in their barn was the result. One of the strengths of this team is the balanced attack. Captain Nicole Trbizan and Meghan Posthumus stepped things up on the point limiting Lancer scoring chances and Becky played another smooth game in net. Morgan Powell and Morgan Prangley were quick on the forecheck and always creating havoc around their net. Jess Dias, Alyson Thomas and Kelli Prince notched goals for the good guys.
