General Rules

  1. This tournament is sanctioned by the OMHA and follows OMHA tournament rules and regulations.
  2. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games.
  3. Teams must be ready to play 20 minutes before their scheduled game time. Coaches will be notified by tournament staff of any schedule changes.
  4. The tournament schedule is final.
  5. Teams that miss their scheduled game will forfeit (score: 3-0) and become ineligible for finals.

Game Structure

  1. Warm-Up: A 3-minute warm-up will be provided before puck drop.
  2. Game Length – 10-10-15.
  3. Round Robins

·  For both U15 and U18 divisions, teams will be divided into two pools of four teams each.

·  Each team will play every other team in its pool once during the round robin stage.

  1. Run Time

·    In the 3rd period, if a team is leading by more than 5 goals, the game will switch to run time. Run time will continue until the goal differential is reduced to 3 or less. Penalties will still follow the standard timing (e.g., a 2-minute penalty will remain 2 minutes).

  1. Overtime (for elimination games only): If a semi-final or final game is tied at the end of regulation, the game will proceed to overtime to 5 minutes of overtime 3v3. If at the end of the 5 minutes of overtime the teams are still tied, they will move to shootouts.
  2. Shootout Procedure (for elimination games only):

·   5 players will need to be identified on the gamesheet prior to the start of the game.

·   Three-Player Shootout: Each team nominates three shooters (listed on the game sheet as S1, S2, S3). The home team indicates on the game sheet if they will shoot first or second. This needs to be identified prior to the start of the game.

·    Sudden Death Shootout: If the game is still tied after the first three shooters, teams will continue with one shooter each until a winner is determined. Shooters 4 and 5 listed on the game sheet will shoot next. After those two, any eligible player may participate.

·     If time allows, the suddendeath shootout will proceed sequentially (one shooter at a time). If time is limited, it will be conducted simultaneously (both teams shooting at the same time). The tournament director and referees will make the final decision on the shootout format.
