Welcome to U13 tryouts for the 25/26 season. My name is Greg Eichenberger, coach of the U13A Cougars. I’m incredibly excited to be a part of the Cougars Hockey family for the upcoming season!
Coaching hockey has been a passion of mine for the past eight years, with experience ranging from Midget Rep all the way to Mites. Each level has taught me something new, and I bring that knowledge and enthusiasm into every season.
I believe in Building a positive environment. One where players feel motivated, respected, and supported. I’ll be encouraging camaraderie, belief, trust and mutual respect, both among players and between players and coaches.
Hockey is more than just a game. It’s a vehicle for growth, character, and greatness. Whether a player’s goal is to advance competitively or just become the best version of themselves, I’m here to support that journey.
This season, my focus will be on player development, team building, and overall team success. We’ll be guided by four core values, summed up by the acronym A.R.E.E.

Open borders has created even more possibility. I believe in selecting the best candidates for the team, regardless of where a player competed the previous season. Everyone has a fresh opportunity to earn their spot. Tryouts can be a stressful time, so please remind your player to work hard and have fun. I am looking forward to see everyone bring their best.
In terms of my own hockey background, I grew up playing minor hockey with the Mt Brydges Cougars, then moved on to the Elgin Middlesex Chiefs/Canucks, before playing Junior B with the London Nationals. It’s an honour to come full circle and now coach with the same organization where my hockey journey began.
