Peewe Girls Tryouts
Welcome to the 2016-17 Peewee Girls Tryouts.
My name is Al Amos and I'm very excited to have the opportunity to coach this team.
I would like welcome all players who are interested in playing in Mount Brydges next year and hopefully beyond.
Our goal in Mount Brydges is to build a great girl's hockey program for all age groups. We started an Atom girl's competitive team last year and I was fortunate to coach this team. We focused on skill and development and the girls showed steady improvement through the year. The highlight for the team was being 1 of 4 teams out of 9 to qualify for the Provincials.
I would like to also mention that we have had a very successful program with our Midget girls. They won Gold at the Provincials this past season...what an accomplishment!!! This team has been together for a number of years and it's a great example of what can happen when the core group of players stick together. We will definitely have some of the Midget girls coming out to our practices this coming season.
I have coached girl's hockey for many years at all levels. My main focus with the players has always been skill and development and developing a TEAM concept. I have coached 3 teams winning Silver Medals at the Provincials. I have been fortunate enough to work with Lindsay Hofford as the Women's Hockey Director for Pro Hockey Development Group.
This coming season our team will be having hockey development both on and off the ice. There will also be free goalie clinics offered throughout the year. We will evaluate our team and determine what level we will be playing BB/B/C.
For players coming from other associations please remember to bring your Permission to Skate Form. I look forward to meeting everyone at the tryouts.
