Atom Blue, U11, 2016-2017 (Mt Brydges Minor Hockey)

Congratulations to Atom Blue players.  We won the A Final in a hard-fought 2-1 victory. Every team member contributed equally and the coaches couldn't be more proud.  This team continues to improve through our season games and practices, playing well as a team.  This tournament was a perfect showcase of that work. Relentless forechecking, back checking, and improved positional playing were evident in these 4 games. Special thanks goes to AP Helaena MacDonald for joining us for this tournament.

Congratulations to the following players for earning the Hardhat Award in recent games: Quinten, Maggie and Andrew!   Here's a little update.

It was fun to have the players at our home Saturday with their families.  We are already planning a progressive rink party for winter months.  There are at least 3 families represented on this team that make backyard rinks! Congratulations to Joel D. for earning the hardest working player helmet during our first season game.  He made a lot of difficult saves, and his hard work was appreciated by his team.

All available families are invited to a team open house at 36 Candlewood Lane in Kilworth on Saturday, October 15 at 1-3:30ish.  Bring a little snack to share with 4-5 people, adult drinks, road hockey stick, gloves, helmet, chair if wanted.  We will provide games, a coach trivia contest, dessert and drinks for kids.

Welcome to Atom Blue. We are excited about our team and look forward to a great season.  We will have our first practice Sunday, Sept. 25 at 1:00 pm. in Mount Brydges. A brief parent meeting will take place after our second practice on Sunday, October 2.  My wife Mary Beth will hang out in the park or if raining, in the rink, with any kids that are waiting for a parent attending this meeting.   Picture Day is Thursday Sept. 29 at the Mount Brydges Community Centre at 5:30pm.
