Atom Girls, U11, 2012-2013 (Mt Brydges Minor Hockey)

What a tournament girls! I imagine people will be talking about our semi final game for a long time. To lose in a shootout after 24 shooters a side is waaaay too intense! We had approximately 200 people rushing from the concessions to encourage both teams  on. Unfortunately our little Cougars came out on the short end. Our goaltending was  incredible and we had a great effort put forth by everyone to force us into a shootout against a tough Stratford team. So proud of you girls!

Unfortunately, we didn't do well in the win/loss column in our first tournament. But here's what I saw. We tied the team that lost in the finals, we lost a nail bitter to the team that won the tournament (we could have just as easily won both of these games), and last but not least we only lost 2-0 to a solid Lucan team. We had tremendous goaltending, (6 goals against in 3 games), solid defence, and some secondary scoring. You worked hard, kept a positive attitude, and never quit. To sum it up, YOU GIRLS WERE ALL AMAZING! 

What a great game tonight girls! That makes it 2 wins in a row! Can we make it 3? We gave up an early goal to go down 1-0 but we fought back to earn a 3-1 victory. That's due hard work by everyone! Since you all worked so hard there were some firsts tonight. Lauren scored her 1st goal. Kate, Karsen, McKenna and Grace all recorded their 1st point of the season. In goal, Lauren had yet another solid performance. Let's keep working super duper hard to try and take the back end of the home and home!

What a great weekend girls! Yes, we lost 5-3 on Saturday. I'm very excited to see our team persevere from a 4-1 deficit to make it 4-3! It shows me we have a good positive attitude. I'm so proud of everyone! On Sunday a great 2-1 win with everyone working hard and sacrificing their body to earn a win for their teammates. Lets keep working hard as a team and hopefully we'll be rewarded by our team efforts. Don't forget that we have picture night Tuesday at 6:45. Please arrive by 6:15 to get dressed in enough time.

What a great game girls! All your hard work has paid off by earning our 1st win of the season. Lets keep up the hard work and lets see what happens in our game against the B.A.D. girls on Saturday. We, the coaching staff, are so proud of each and every one of you tonight!
