Notes
In the most anticipated game of this season yet we are graced with the opportunity to show that a reset of the score board and some fresh Refs may change destiny.
Coach Richard amps our players up in the Junior dressing room before the game with some insightful advice on how to handle the opposition.
We take the ice promptly as Zach start slamming the scoreboard display with a goal in under two minutes. Goderich in desperation ties it up a few min later with 2 to go in the first.
Dean follows suit with a goal 2 min from the end of the first and Treyton pops one in to make it 3-1 at the end of the first period.
The second period was back and forth with some excellent fair call from Referee Sourface Crankypants and his crew.
In the third with just 46 seconds left Goderich ties it up. We are going into overtime to see what our kids are made of.
After double overtime Joel proves his Captains worth by finishing off Goderich in classic fashion with a textbook shot from a few feet out.
I wanted to mention that as much as some of the players may have stood out with their numbers and scores posted but what truly won this tournament was a combined effort from our entire roster. Consistent pure effort was given by all and I couldn't be more proud to be part of this team. Great job guys. Believe it or not we are almost at the half way mark of the season and the coaching staff is looking to a great second half!
