Atom AE Regional Silver Stick Champions!
Submitted By Marc Decosse on Wednesday, November 30, 2016
The Mt Brydges Atom AE team rolled undefeated to the Regional Silver Stick Championship in Exeter, November 25-27.

The five games included some easy wins and some tight contests. Game 1, a 6-0 score featured no shots on net against our boys!  Game 2 was also a runaway win, at 11-2. On Saturday we ran into a talented and determined team from Napanee, but came away with a 3-1 win.  An 8 a.m. semi-final game Sunday morning saw us matched up against our Strathroy neighbours, and the boys worked hard in a 2-0 win to get us into the afternoon final against the Napanee team.  The championship game saw the opposition open the scoring in the first period.  Our boys came back with two goals, and then defended the lead by keeping the puck in the other team's zone, right to the final buzzer.  A great effort and the boys celebrated on the ice before receiving their medals with lots of proud parents on the ice taking photos. Now the team prepares for the International Silver Stick, hosted by Pelham, ON (Niagara Falls).
