Referees
Referees perform a vital role in the game of hockey at all levels.  They are the third team out on the ice, without whom the game would not happen.  Our association has a great group of dedicated, hardworking referees who strive to do their best at every game.

A new Referee Convenor role has been added to the Board this year.  As a result, here are a few changes that have been made, as well as some reminders.

- There is new signage up at the Tri Township Arena restricting fans from being in the area where the players, coaches and officials are exiting the ice.  We ask that our fans respect this new rule and stay out of this section of the arena.

- A Referee Feedback Form has been created and added to the top of the main page of the website under 'Feedback'.  The purpose of this form is to give fans the opportunity to provide positive feedback about our referees, as well as to share concerns with our Referee Convenors.  Learning and development occurs from knowing what we are doing well and learning from our mistakes. Referee Feedback Form

- Remember referees are human!  Our officials try their best every game to enforce the rules, maintain order on the ice and most of all ensuring the safety of the players.  It is the start of a new hockey season and this is a good time to remind our fans of the 24 rule.  It is very important that all parties involve take the full 24 hours to reflect and decrease the emotional element before reacting.

- Please take the time to read this article which contains a letter from a referee to parents http://activeforlife.com/letter-to-parents-from-referee/

Thank-you to all our officials!
