Midget B Girls Hamilton Champs   The Midget B Girls won the Hamilton Hawkey tournament in dramatic fashion over the weekend with a 2-1 shootout victory over the Flamborough Falcons.  After Sophie Vriends tied the score at 1-1 with just under 4 minutes to go in the game, Megan McGill scored on the Cougars’ 4th attempt and Jules Johnson shut down all 4 Falcon shooters in the shootout.  The girls went 2-0-1 in the preliminary round, opening up with a 1-1 tie against

the Keene Wolverines, and then defeating the Markham-Stouffeville Stars 4-0 and the Hamilton Hawks 3-0.   Melanie Poirier, Karsyn Summers-Henry, Grace Lankin and McGill all earned individual game MVP’s, while Cory McGrath netted the Tournament MVP for the champs.  Katie Rowe, Shannen Rowe, Rebecca Werden, Poirier, McGill, McGrath, Vriends, Summers-Henry, and Vriends all chipped in with goals for the Cougars.  Sydney Lapointe, Aly Van Rooyen and Lankin were all strong in support and Johnson, once again, was spectacular in net.   Congratulations to all the girls on a great finish to a fantastic season!
