Novice Red wins big in Saginaw!
Congrats to the Novice Red Team for their tournament win in Saginaw over the weekend
After 4 tough games, lots of sweat and a few tears the final game was

played by two Canadian teams. The Sault St. Marie Electric Zappers finished at the top of their division vs Novice Red also at the top of their division coming into the final game 4-0. 2:25 into the first period Noah Zebregts made an incredible rush from his spot on defense and opened the scoring. This was the start we hoped for and the kids were pumped. Next to score was Caden Brown about a minute and a half later.
In the 2nd the Sault scored to narrow the score to 2-1. The Cougars then turned up the dial and never looked back. Zack Deleary scored a beauty later in the 2nd and then another early in the 3rd making the score 4-1 with 8 minutes to go. We needed another goal to take the wind out of their sails and Casey Bridgewater scored our final goal at 6:47 of the 3rd period. The score was 5-1 and when the buzzer sounded the kids, coaches and parents went nuts!!!! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!
We want to thank all the parents and grand parents and other family and friends for making the trip to Saginaw and cheering the boys on loud and proud. GREAT JOB COUGARS!!!!
