Mount Brydges Cougars is now accepting Head Coach Applications for the upcoming 2026–2027 season.
We are seeking qualified and committed coaches for:

AA teams in the U10–U18 divisions

About U8 & U9 MD Hockey
MD (Minor Development) hockey provides a competitive environment for young players who are ready for a higher level of instruction and gameplay beyond house league. These teams focus on:

Building strong foundational skating and puck‑handling skills

Introducing structured team concepts and positional play

Supporting player confidence, teamwork, and love of the game

Preparing athletes for future competitive pathways such as A or AA hockey
Coaches at this level play a crucial role in shaping early development habits and fostering a positive, growth‑focused environment.
About AA Hockey
AA hockey represents one of the highest levels of competitive minor hockey in Ontario. Players at this level demonstrate strong skating ability, advanced game sense, and a high commitment to training and development. AA teams compete against top-tier programs and require coaches who can foster both individual skill growth and strong team culture.
What We Look for in a Head Coach
To support our athletes and maintain the standard of excellence within our organization, we are seeking coaches who demonstrate:

Technical knowledge of the game — strong understanding of systems, player development, and age‑appropriate skill progression.

Leadership and communication skills — ability to motivate, teach, and build trust with players and families.

Player‑focused development mindset — commitment to long‑term athlete growth, not just short‑term results.

Professionalism and integrity — modelling respect, accountability, and positive behaviour on and off the ice.

Organizational and planning skills — ability to run structured practices, manage bench operations, and support seasonal development plans.

Experience in competitive hockey environments — prior coaching or playing experience at a high level is considered an asset.
