U10A Mt. Brydges Cougars Take Silver at Jr. Mustangs Earlybird A/AA Tournament! 🏒🥈
What an incredible start to the season for our U10A Mt. Brydges Cougars! This past weekend, the team came together to compete in the Jr. Mustangs Earlybird A/AA Tournament—and came home with a well-earned Silver Medal.
We opened strong with a 5-0 win over Jr. Mustangs Grey, faced a tough loss to Haldimand, then bounced back with big wins: 9-1 over Jr. Mustangs Purple and 5-0 over Sarnia Sting to clinch a spot in the semi-finals.
In a thrilling rematch with Haldimand, our boys battled hard—giving up a goal with just 12 seconds left—but came out on top in OT! The finals against Talbot Trail were just as intense. We took an early 2-0 lead before they tied it up late, and once again, it went to OT. Despite a tough loss, our Cougars earned a well-deserved Silver medal.
This was more than just a tournament—it was a chance for a brand-new team to start building something special. The players came together on the ice, families had fun getting to know each other, and our coaches began shaping a strong, supportive team culture.
A great weekend had by all, and a fantastic way to kick off the season.
