Hello Parents and Players of the Atom Blue hockey team,
This week, we watched our Player of the Week demonstrate to everyone how
hard he is working on the ice and what it means to be a great team-mate.
His
hair is always soaked after games and practices and no matter the score, he is
always smiling and having a great time.
We watched our Player of the Week demonstrate his scoring touch and "catch fire" by notching 3 goals and 1 assist in our games this week. When the puck is in the visitors end and in his corner, he is there doing everything he possibly can to get the puck and send it to the other winger or center-man who is waiting in front of the net. If the play is in the opposite wingers side, our Player of the Week is waiting patiently in front of the net, jockeying for position and ready to score.
Occasionally, there is a scrum and the puck is in everyone’s feet, our Player of the Week has mastered “Kick Pass.” We have seen him on numerous times “kick pass” the puck to his teammates creating scoring chances for other players. We have seen him get tripped, stick-checked and bumped but he always keeps his cool. He understands that he is more valuable on the ice than in the penalty box.
When he comes into the changeroom, he always has a HUGE smile on his face before his practices and games. He is quick to learn the new drills, develop new skills and he does his very best to improve every game.
