Playoff Round 2, Game 1
Novice Red has worked very hard to get to this point in the playoffs and I think the game today was proof we deserve to be here. This game was a great battle from the first puck drop. We came out flying and Emily Small scored our first goal on the first shift after only 28 seconds of play. The assists went to Cole A. and Quin W.............
The rest of the first period was great end to end action with both teams scoring. Cole Abbey scored an unassisted goal and the score was 2-2 going into the 2nd period. We opened the second period scoring with an excellent rush by Quin putting Novice red up by a goal. Then less than a minute later white found the back of the net. All tied up agian. Onto a nail bitter of a third period. White was playing hard, and they netted the first goal of the third period making the score 4-3. We battled hard through the third with Diaz making some strong saves for us. Novice white was not letting up and getting physical with our team. We pushed on and with less than 3 minutes to go Quin scored a beauty assisted by Emily and Gilby. Game tied at 4. With 41 seconds to go Novice White snuck one past Diaz. Red still pushed on. We battled hard right until the end buzzer but came up a little bit short. Congrats to our heart and hustle winner today Emily Small. Great game! Special mention goes out to Cole Haywood. Good job buddy, you are working hard every shift and it shows. Novice Red should all be proud of the effort you put in today. Rest up and come back hard Tuesday night. We can do it!! Go Red Go!
