Please take a moment and read the following information about the local league sorting skates.
Coaches Needed
There will be 4 U11 Local League teams this year, and thus far we only have 2 coaches. If you are interested in coaching, please contact Jerry Leyton or speak with one of the coaches at the sorting skate.
What is the sorting skate
The first couple of sorting skates will be all skills and drills, similar to the conditioning skates. After that, we may do an intersquad game or two. This gives the coaches the opportunity to see where the players are at in hopes of making the local league teams equal. It also gives the kids an opportunity to prepare themselves for the upcoming season.
Who Attends
Every player in the U11 division is welcome to attend the U11 Local League sorting skates. If your child is registered to play Local League, we strongly encourage you to attend. If you have been released from the Rep tryouts and are waiting to attend the AE tryouts, we encourage you to attend as it is a great opportunity to get an extra skate in.

Player Positions
This is the first year of full ice hockey for many players. If your child feels strongly about playing a certain position, please indicate this to the volunteers when you pick up your pinnie before the skate. This doesn’t necessarily mean that your child will play that position or is stuck in the position, it just means that we try not to have teams full of defense, etc. If your child doesn’t know yet, that’s fine too, just say that if asked.
If your child is listed as a goalie, and is not intending to play goalie, or is not listed as a goalie and intends to play goalie, please let us know at the first sorting skate.
