Game 25
Our 2016/2017 regular season games wrapped up tonight in Lambeth. It's amazing how time flies when you're having fun. The Great White Atoms finished off the season on a

high note after defeating the Lambeth Lancers by a score of 4-1.
The first period was fairly uneventful as both teams had chances but no scoring. Things started to open up a bit in the 2nd when our small but mighty Cobyn Dias blasts one home after taking a nice pass from Bryce Carruthers about half way through the 2nd. It didn't take long before Lambeth answered back to tie it with 4 minutes left in the 2nd.
The 3rd period was all Mount Brydges as Cole Abbey got on a roll and scored 3 times to seal the 4-1 win. His first goal at the 13:56 mark was assisted by Colton Cordeiro. The next one with 8:25 left to play was marked as unassisted on the game sheet but the goal never would have happened without the hard work of Paolo Casavecchia along the boards in the neutral zone. Paolo won the battle for the puck against 2 Lambeth players. Cole Abbey came in to help out and picked up the loose puck and took off on a break-away to score his second goal of the period. The hat trick came with 3:22 left when Cole found room to go again and scored after picking the top corner.
The whole team played well tonight, our defense was solid as usual by foiling many of the opponents chances in our zone . Our forwards were working hard and hustling and must say Bryce Carruthers has really stepped it up with some really impressive performances. Congrats Bryce on taking the 5 bucks tonight after a nice assist on Cobyn's goal. Ben should not be left out as he made some very solid saves to keep our goals against limited to 1.
Now that the regular season has ended, we must get ready for the playoffs! Coach Mark will find out on Tuesday night who we play and when the playoff games will begin.
No matter who we play, bring it on!! We are ready! GO COUGARS GO!
