Great effort by all this weekend....

Pretty proud of the girls this weekend - four games and only 3 Goals Against and 10 Goals For.  Unfortunately things just didn't line up for us.  Great to see a local team (Lambton) in the finals, losing to South Huron.  Special note to all the girls playing out of position and eating up the ice time in the 9 skater and 10 skater games on Saturday.  You should be very proud of your efforts.  Think the Oakville team was the best team we've seen all year - 1-1 tie and going to the 9th round in shoot out was an amazing experience.

A note on Attendance....at this age it is normal for girls to have other commitments....new jobs....school events etc...however we (and I) need to do a better job of keeping a handle on it.

Girls really need to do their best to make themselves available for this tournaments.  Our team and families spend a-lot of money and dedicate a lot of time on tournaments - there is really no reason our team shouldn't be making it out of round robins.

Please let your bosses know that your coach has asked you to try to be available for tournaments and hopes your workplace will support you in your commitment to the rest of your team.  Strategies are to just not schedule you for work or to see if you are allowed to switch with others.  Talk about this with your parents - and bring it up with your bosses if you can.  If you just can't get out of work and your family feels that's the priority, I will absolutely support that as I did this weekend, but hope for tournaments we can become the priority.

Family events - weddings, funerals etc...obviously hockey can take a back seat to those important events.

So Diane and I are going to be chasing people down this week to ensure we will have numbers in Stratford.

Also there is a player on one of the Bantam boys teams we are going to ask permission to AP.

Keep your stick on the ice...Coach Millar
