Hello Parents and Player of the Atom Red hockey team!
Hard work and effort pay-off every time. This week we continued to watch our players develop into a formidable team. They were making timely passes, develop key scoring opportunities, back checking and dominating on the ice.
We also had the opportunity to continue watching one of our players continue to develop his skills, make timely passes and be an offensive threat every time he steps onto the ice.
Our Player of the Week excels in setting-up his teammates in the neutral zone and with his keen eye, he can thread a needle and pass the puck through traffic to his teammate who is there ready to drive the puck into the oppositions net. When he is going with the puck along the boards weaving in and out of traffic, he knows he has the skills to roof the puck, the speed to drive pass the opposing defenseman or, pass to his teammates.
When in the offensive end, our Player of the Week is like a Tasmanian Devil, fore-checking teams into submission and he constantly applies pressure in the corners until he gets the puck. He can either set-up scoring chances or, he gets into position in the slot to either receive a pass or pick-up a rebound. Player of the Week is there, in position and ready to compete every game.
In our tournaments, our Player of the Week goes into overdrive. He is focussed on only one thing, the teams success. We constantly overhear him encouraging his teammates to pass the puck, set-up plays and to work hard.
