Hello Friends and Families of the Atom Red Hockey Team,
Welcome to our Player of the Week write-up where we acknowledge the hard work and effort of one of our players. This week, we had a player who made all 4 practices and came to our game right on time and ready to give everything he has!
Before our practices, he can be found in the changeroom with his hockey pals chit-chatting with his pals about the events at school or he will predict the outcome of the game. On the ice, he knows his defense position extremely well, so much so that he has mentioned to his coaches that he was the best defenseman in his other league! He continues to work hard at his backwards skating, stopping on both sides and his stickhandling. Our Player of the Week listens to the advice his coaches give him and applies it immediately.
Our Player of the Week does his best at every practice and game. One of his best attributes is that he never gets down on his teammates. No matter what the score of the game is he knows that his team has the talent to make a comeback and that he will do everything they can to help his team!
He is always happy and a demonstrates sportsmanship at every practice and game. If you are unsure of who our Player of the Week is, wait until we score a goal, our Player of the Week celebrates everyone’s goal. He is a team player who likes to celebrate everyone’s success because, this is HIS team and when the team does well, he celebrates because that is what the coaches want from all players: celebrate everyone’s success!
When our Player of the Week scores a goal, the parents, player and coaches know that each of his “celes” will be a unique experience. We have never seen him do the same “cele” twice. The coaches always look forward to how our Player of the Week will “cele” when he scores. Leg kick, fist pump, wipe-up the ice, kayak, the swim, the flop, shoot the glove, stop-drop and roll, who knows?? No-one knows how our player of the Week will celebrate but we do know that his “Celes” will be an original just like him.
