Game January 31
Strathroy is the final stop in our regular season with a game against the White Rockets. I can't believe the season is winding down already but here we are with playoffs starting next weekend. This game started off with.....

Strathroy scoring first just 2 minutes in. Our team looked a little disconbobulated for the first period and our performance wasn't the sharpest. We had a few opportunities but the score was 1-0 at the end of 1. The second period started a bit better with Sam Stewart scoring to tie it up at the 8:40 mark with the assists going to Jacob Molnar and Carson Cordeiro. It didn't take long for Strathroy to answer back with 2 more goals before Brett Fair scored after faking a hard shot then tricking the goalie with a dribbler :-). Assists to Dillon Lynch and and Tanner Jarrett. Strathroy was pressing hard and managed to score again with 1:20 on the clock in the 2nd making the score 4-2 after 2 periods.
We needed to regroup and go hard in the 3rd period if we wanted to finish thew season on a high note before the playoffs. Coach Ryan gave the kids a good pep talk to help get the kids into the game. This seemed to help and we played much better in the 3rd. Brett Fair tricked the goalie again but went with a much harder shot this time. Dillon and Tanner getting credit for the assists again. We are down by one and time was ticking away and we took a few untimely penalties but managed to keep the gap at 1. With 2:50 left to play Denny Doxtator rushed the puck and blasted a hard shot through the goalie and in the net. We all thought the goalie stopped it for a second before the ref pointed into the net. The game was tied and we continued to press hard but couldn't manage to get any more goals so the final score was a 4-4 tie.
Great job in the 3rd period kids. Remember, we will need to play well for all 3 periods if we want a chance to win in the playoffs. See you at practice on Tuesday.
