Atom Blue: Thorold Tournament Champs!
The bench staff is extremely proud of our kids efforts this weekend at our tournament in Thorold.
We had 3 wins and 1 loss in the preliminary round to advance to the final. This gave us the opportunity to play the Thorold Pappa Vince Pizza team (with a team record of 15 wins, 1 loss) who had given us our only loss earlier in the tournament, the chance to play them again in the finals.
Although the kids were tired, every player on our team worked extremely hard every shift. We battled back from being down 1 - 0, then 2 -1 to tie the equalizer in the third period and with 1:29 left in the game, we scored the go-ahead goal. Thorold pulled their goalie and gave us everything we could handle. We cleared the puck with 9 seconds left to secure the 3 - 2 win and become the Thorold TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS!!
