Delhi Tournament Champions!!
What an exciting weekend of hockey the Mt.B Cougar Atom Rep team had this weekend!
Our team headed to Delhi for the 50th Anniversary of the Tobacco Town Tournament. Delhi put on a great tournament with lots to do for the kids and they even had a spot for the parents to get a refreshment.
Our tournament started on Friday morning which meant, no school for the kids and a day off work for the parents. Yah...
Our first round robin opponent was Mooretown and it turned out to be a great match up. Both teams worked hard and the Cougars came out on top 4-2.
Our second game saw us up against Ingersoll. After both teams fired shots back and forth all game. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Our last round robin game had us up against Tillsonburg. We needed the win to secure a semi-finals playoff birth and the Cougars did just that. With trapping the Tornadoes for the last 7min. The Cougars held on to win 2-1.
In the semi-finals. The Cougars had to play the home team at a very early Sunday morning time. With the Cougars on the road by 5:55am to play Delhi by 8am. The curfew must of worked. Our kids came out hungry and wore the Rockets down to a 4-0 win. Putting us in the finals vs the Ayr Flames.
In the finals the Cougars would not be shut down. Even with questionable calls. The Cougars battled every shift and stuck to the game plan and by doing that. They were rewarded with the win.
The kids played their hearts out all weekend and were rewarded with a well deserved Championship!!
