The Dream Team’s season is finally over and it’s bragging
time!!!!!
7 months ago at the first team practice….. “Boys, we have
something special here, a new family of brothers that only you belong to. A family that no one can separate or ever
tear apart. If we are prepared to work
harder than anyone else and we commit to working together as team, learning to
play for each other we will accomplish great things. Today we are about to embark on an amazing
ride. This teams’ greatness begins right
now….”
After hundreds of Slushies, Kinder Eggs and Sour Keys, late Sunday night almost 7 months later that terrific ride came to a glorious ending. This amazing group of boys won their 44th consecutive game to win the OMHA Joyce Junker Trophy, crowning themselves the Novice B Western Ontario Champions.
These boys brought their best for each other all year long both on and off the ice. They played with passion and desire that only a love for hockey and each other could create. Every time that door opened they would rip their chests open and tear onto that ice after the puck like starving wolves. (I know they are 7 and 8 but it is true. LOL)
They took their individual skills and talents and learned to play the game as a team amassing an absolutely unreal set of stats over their 76 games and even more practices…

After 7 months of, “PANTS ON FIRE”, “MOVE YOUR FEET”, “HEAD UP, HEAD UP” my greatest memory will be the smiling faces every time they came into a team huddle. The coaching staff, the parents and I would like to thank these boys for the absolutely awesome ride they took us on. Our arms were in the air and we were screaming our heads off the whole time. Although the ride has finally come to an end... I still have the biggest grin stuck on my face!
