Ridgetown Finalists!!
Peewee Gold participated in the Ridgetown Christmas Classic Tournament this past weekend....
On Saturday the team played a very strong game against the host South Kent Lightening. We came out with a 6-0 win. On Sunday we played Dorchester, after a very hard fought game the Cougars were successful with a 2-1 win! Monday, we found out we had finished first in the division and had a bye to the semi-finals. We were up against Wallaceburg. The game got very chippy and rough as it progressed, our team kept their composure and won the game 7-1. On Tuesday we were in the finals against a team from Manvers. The finals were a battle of 1 vs 2 in the tournament, with only 1 goal seperating us in the standings. The game started out fast with a 2-2 score before we got to the 7 min mark of the first period. Going into the second period we were up 3-2. The team played awesome hockey the whole game. the end result was an 8-5 loss.
This was a very fun tournament, and once again, the coaches are all very proud of how well the team played. Thank you to all the parents for the support you gave our team! The team loves hearing the cheers.
