Mitchell Tournament Champions!!
The second stepping stone has been put in place.
It was a fun weekend for the Cougars.
After playing Listowel, Walkerton, Saugeen Shores and Ayr in the round robin play. The two top teams played against each other for the finals.
This set up a show down between Listowell and Mt.Brydges.
The Cougars started the first period fast and furious and had many chances to score but could not figure out the Listowell goalie. It was well into the second period before the Cougars scored to take the lead 1-0. With no room for either team to make a mistake. The Listowell team took 2 penalties back to back to allow the Cougars to play 5 on 3. With this happening. The boys could taste blood and they netted a second goal to take the lead 2-0. With playing a conservative remaining 4 minutes. The Cougars scored an empty net goal to secure the win 3-0 and the championship.
It was our first tournament win with the new jerseys!
A well deserved win this weekend boys.
