Player of the Week
Hello Novice White Parents and Players,
This past week, I had to ask one of our forwards to play a position he is not used to. We were entering into a tournament and we were missing one of our defense players! We needed a hockey player who can see the whole ice, skate fast as lightning, stick handle through traffic, be responsible playing defense AND possibly add some scoring punch.
It was a huge task for a coach to ask any player on short notice but, our Player of the Week was up to the challenge!
He played amazing on defense for our tournament, shutting down the opposition, stripping the puck from the opposing team. He played defense like a seasoned pro! He also played "D" for our game on Friday again, filling in for a missing player on short notice and he did not miss a beat. Strong, steady defense is how he played for us.
Our Player of the Week also attended both morning practices. He learned the drills quickly and had tonnes of fun with all of his coaches learning the new drills and skills.
He leads by example. He is the "strong and silent" type of individual who lets his awesome hockey skills on the ice speak for him.
