Thanks for the Memories!
Our season is now over and I want to wrap things up here by saying thanks to each and every player and parent for your help making this year a great success. I'm sure all the kids had fun and I hope the parents did as well.....
We saw some pretty amazing progress made by many of our kids. This was the most rewarding part for me in my first year coaching. Watching a young player work hard and develop their skill all season then score his first goal and give the old fist pump with a huge smile is as good as it gets folks. Watching the team come together and seeing the kids develop great new friendships was equally rewarding. I'm sure some kids have found new friends that will last a lifetime. In my mind, that is what playing hockey or any team sport is all about!
I want to say thanks to the parent volunteers who helped with the coaching, jerseys, team management, etc for all your time and effort to help make it happen for the kids. Managing a successful team is a team effort and it would not have been possible without you. I also want to say thanks to the rest of the parents for being so supportive and going with the flow this season. It has been a fantastic experience for me and hopefully you too.
