Round 2, Game 3
It's March 2nd. If someone would have said at the beginning of the season Novice Red would still be battling in the playoffs today. I would have said that's awesome! Today I say ....

AWESOME SEASON KIDS!!!!
Our final game today was a tough loss to take after taking a 2-0 lead early in the second period.  The first goal was scored by Keenan Mayer with the assist going to Bryce Carruthers just under 2 minutes into the 2nd. Our second goal came after a fantastic rush by Noah Zebregts about 3 minutes later with the assist going to Caleb MacGowan. About a minute and a half later Novice White opened their scoring after finding an opening deep in our zone. Only about 30 seconds later they scored again tying the game up at 2 each.
We battled hard through the 3rd period and with 2:14 left our opponent scored again to take a 1 goal lead. We loaded the last line and pulled Eric for the extra attacker but we just couldn't manage to tie it up. The game ended in a 3-2 loss which means our regular season playoff run is now over. Congratulations to Keenan Mayer for winning the Heart & Hustle award today. You really stepped up today Keenan, great job! Everyone should be proud of our efforts and accomplishments this year. Honorable mention goes to the line of Zack Deleary, Caleb MacGowan and Owen Deyell  I think you guys played great today.
We still have a couple tournaments to play and some ice time will be available between now and the end of March so the fun is not over yet. In case you haven't heard, Noah Zebregts and Casey Bridgewater have been selected to play in a LMLL All-Star game on March 29th in Parkhill. Unfortunately the Association's year end banquet is scheduled at the same time so the rest of us can't be there to cheer them on.  Good luck to both of you!
In closing I want to say congratulations to Novice White for playing one heck of a series. The series was a close battle and I think everyone had a lot of fun....at the end of the day, having fun is what this is all about.
